MAIDEN — Maiden High has announced two new opponents in football for this week.

The Blue Devils said Monday morning they will not makeup games missed last week against St. Stephens.

Instead, Maiden will be at home Thursday at 7 p.m. for a junior varsity game against Shelby.

The Blue Devils varsity (2-0), which has outscored opponents 103-0, has added a game Friday at Monroe with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.

On Wednesday, Maiden cancelled the varsity game at Monroe because of COVID issues at Monroe High.

Spartans, Red Devils add Friday varsity battle

After not playing Bandys last week, South Caldwell has picked up a varsity game on Friday night in Newton (7:30 p.m.) against Newton-Conover.

The Spartans first said they would play the Red Devils in Hudson in junior varsity football on Thursday but on Monday changed that and will now play JVs on Thursday at Hickory.
