A look at the East Burke-Newton-Conover girls’ high school basketball games over the previous two decades (1998-99 through this season), as they prepare to play Saturday at 6 p.m. in Icard in the third round of the state 2A basketball playoffs:

- Newton-Conover record at East Burke: 4-6.
- Last Newton-Conover win at East Burke: 43-38 on Feb. 1, 2013.

Notes: The Red Devils and Cavs played in the Catawba Valley Athletic 2A for four seasons beginning in 2012-13 with Newton-Conover winning 10 of the 12 
games in those seasons … Current Newton-Conover head coach Sylvia White is 0-4 against the Cavs … East Burke won 11 straight in the series at one point and 15 of 16… Cavs head coach Crystal Bartlett has never faced the Red Devils as a coach.
