Today we dedicate this website to the memory of my mom, Betty H. Blackburn. She died on Friday, Oct. 27 at age 92, and my two brothers — David and Randy Hobbs — and my father, James W. Hobbs, predeceased her.
My work with this website — now in its seventh year — will continue to reflect and honor my mother. She has been and will always be my motivation, and my work is a product of what I was taught by my mom, who gave unconditional love.
Anyone who would like to pay their respect to my mom is welcomed at her home (1131 Caleb Setzer Road, Newton) for a celebration of her life on Sunday, Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. and will continue as long as visitors want to come to our house.
Our family friend and pastor Ronnie Parker will speak with our family and mom’s friends at about 2:30 p.m. Ronnie married Myra and I and has served and brought spiritual guidance to Myra and our family each time one of ours has been called home by God.
