ST. LOUIS — Former East Lincoln High star Alec Burleson has had a slow start in the major leagues.
As the Cardinals (87-61) head to San Diego to start a series on Tuesday night, Burleson is hitting .150 (3-for-20). He has scored one run and has not driven in a run or hit a home run.
The Cardinals have a three-game series in San Diego before going to Los Angeles for three games against the Dodgers.

The Cardinals beat the Reds 1-0 on Saturday with Burleson starting in right field and batting sixth in the lineup. He went 1-for-2 and left the game in the seventh inning when Albert Pujols pinch-hit for him.
