BLUFFTON, S.C. – Led by a fifth-place finish by Abbey Hartsell that earned her a spot on the all-tournament team, Lenoir-Rhyne University’s women finished second in the Low Country Invitational.
The two-day tournament at the Crescent Pointe Golf Club ended Tuesday with the Bears at 50-over par 618 and with Western Michigan winning (38-over par 606).
Hartsell, a junior from Taylorsville, finished at 9-over par 151, eight strokes back of individual champion Lisa Malherbe of Lincolnton Memorial (1-over par 143).
LRU’s next competition is March 19-20 in the Wingate Intercollegiate Challenge at the Rolling Hills Country Club in Monroe.
