SOUTH FORK 2A FOOTBALL: Schools announce seating capacity during COVID (corrected)

Editor’s note: An earlier list posted incorrectly calculated 30 percent of the numbers listed but those numbers were the actual 30 percent that can get in and not stadium capacity. HobbsDailyReport.com apologizes for the error, now corrected.

The South Fork 2A on Friday released the number of fans each of the seven schools playing varsity football this season can seat per home game.

Under a new order issued by Gov. Roy Cooper, effective at 5 p.m. on Friday, outdoor sporting event venues can have fans up to 30 percent of stadium capacity.

All of the South Fork 2A varsity games were played on Thursday, when the limits were 100 fans, and those will increase starting with junior varsity games on Thursday and varsity games on Friday.

Friday’s league schedule, with 7 p.m. kickoffs, is: Bandys at Newton-Conover, West Lincoln at Maiden and East Lincoln at Lincolnton.

Tickets for JV games will be all first-come, first-serve up to the capacity figure. Fans should call individual schools for entry information, including methods of payment, etc.

Pre-sale tickets for home and visiting fans will be allowed – again checking with individual schools about details is needed. After cheerleaders, band and allotted student sections are addressed, left over tickets will be on sale at the gate, if any are available.

All varsity games will continue to be available, for a fee, at www.sfcnetwork.com but not all JV games may be available.
