FUNDRAISER: Maiden rallies behind former coach with event on Friday

MAIDEN – Maiden High will rally behind one of its own Friday with a hamburger and hot dog sale on Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Jive for Five Concert in downtown Maiden.

All proceeds will go to former Maiden teacher and coach Katrina Robinson, who is battling cancer.

Robinson taught and coached at Maiden High from 1999 to 2015 before becoming an assistant principal in the Lincoln County Schools. She was a co-founding advisor for the Blue Devils’ Varsity Blue and also coached the girls’ varsity softball team.

Hamburgers will be $3 and hot dogs $2 with chips and combos also available.

Entertainment will include the Cosmic Cowboys and Cassette Rewind.

Pepsi is donating soft drinks and water for the event, the food will be prepared on a Traeger Wood Fired Grill courtesy of Piedmont Hardware and chips, tables and tents are being donated by Rose Mill Antiques.
