CHARLOTTE – Queens’ women’s lacrosse team eliminated Lenoir-Rhyne University from the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) tournament on Friday, tripping the Bears 18-8 in a semifinal at the Royals Athletic Complex.
Queens (15-3), ranked No. 8 in NCAA Division II, advances to its fourth straight conference championship match while the Bears finish 11-8.
Saturday’s title match is at 2 p.m.
Ally Blood and Alexandra Bruder each scored four goals to lead Queens past LRU.
The Royals had a 4-3 lead midway through the first half and then scored four straight goals for an 8-3 advantage.
Sophomore Gabby Sousa and freshman Frances Williams each scored twice for the Bears. Sousa finished with team-highs in goals (50) and total points (58) for LRU.
Chase Brokaw had five saves in goal for the Royals and Ines Flueck stopped 12 shots for the Bears.
