ICARD – R-S Central High’s winning streak reached seven games on Friday night.
The Hilltoppers, who lead the South Mountain Athletic 2A-3A, downed East Burke 12-1 on the road.
That win, coupled with Crest beating East Rutherford 7-2 in Forest City, left the Hilltoppers (19-3, 12-2) alone in first place.
East Burke (3-18, 1-13) lost its third straight game and is tied with Chase for last place in the SMAC 2-3A after its third straight loss.
R-S Central’s final two conference games are at home Tuesday at 7 p.m. against East Rutherford and at Burns on Thursday at 7 p.m.
East Burke plays at Chase on Tuesday at 7 p.m. and at home against Kings Mountain on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
