SD-7 2A BASEBALL: Rebels’ win trims Warriors’ lead for second place

LINCOLNTON – West Lincoln High edged visiting West Caldwell 8-4 in Southern District 7 Athletic 2A baseball on Tuesday night to tighten the league race.

West Caldwell (7-8, 7-4) entered Tuesday in second place with a two-game lead over Bunker Hill, Lincolnton and Maiden, but that’s down to a game over Bunker Hill and Maiden after both won games on Tuesday (Bunker Hill 13, Lincolnton 3; Maiden 4, Bandys 0).

West Lincoln improved to 7-9 overall and shares fifth place with Lincolnton.

The Rebels face Maiden in a league game on Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Maiden.

West Caldwell is scheduled to play at league-leading East Lincoln on Friday night at 7 p.m.
