SD-7 2A BASEBALL: Rebels, Bridges hand East Lincoln league loss

West Lincoln finished 7-7 in the Southern District 7 Athletic 2A, tying Lincolnton for fifth and got the No. 5  seed for the league tourney via a sweep of Lincolnton in the regular season.

VALE – Dallas Bridges threw a complete game, leading West Lincoln High to a 3-1 victory over visiting East Lincoln on Friday night in Southern District 7 Athletic 2A baseball.

The Rebels (11-10, 7-7) ran their win streak to three by beating the Mustangs (14-8, 10-4), who still won the conference regular season title by one game over Bunker Hill and Maiden.

Bridges allowed six hits and struck out three.

Dylan Smith had three RBIs for West Lincoln, which tied Lincolnton for fifth place and gained the No. 5 seed for the conference tournament via its sweep of the Wolves in the regular season.

Alec Burleson and Logan Philemon each had two hits for the Mustangs, who are the top seed for the conference tournament. They play at home Tuesday against eight-seeded Newton-Conover.
