MAIDEN – Bryson Ledford threw a complete game, giving up four hits, and Ty Williams’ bases-clearing triple in the sixth inning keyed Maiden High to a 6-2 baseball win on Thursday night over visiting West Lincoln.

Maiden (8-7-1, 7-5 Southern District 7 Athletic 2A) ran its win streak to four, and the loss leaves West Lincoln 8-9 overall and 5-7 in the league heading into the holiday break.

The Blue Devils are headed to Myrtle Beach, S.C., to play in the Mingo Bay Baseball Classic that begins on Tuesday. They face Watertown (N.Y.) at noon on Monday at St. James High.

West Lincoln is the No. 7 seed in the Catawba Valley Easter Classic and plays No. 2 seed Bunker Hill at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Legion Fairgrounds Field in Newton.

The Rebels and Bunker Hill have split in the SD-7 2A regular season, West Lincoln winning 2-1 at West Lincoln in early March and the Bears winning 3-1 in Claremont on April 4.
