LENOIR – Hibriten High finished fourth in Northwestern 3A-4A baseball after beating visiting Patton 9-5 on Friday night.
Hibriten (12-9, 8-6) will end up two games out of third or second place (Hickory is in third but can tie South Caldwell for second if Watauga beats the Spartans on Saturday).
Patton (6-16, 3-10) closes the regular season with a home game at 11 a.m. on Saturday against Freedom.
Patton is in seventh place.
