HICKORY – Lenoir-Rhyne University’s fourth signee for men’s basketball, announced on Thursday, is a 5-foot-11 guard from a state championship team in South Carolina.
Bears head coach Everick Sullivan said LRU has signed Tyson McClain from Dormah High in Spartanburg, S.C..
McClain helped Dorman win a state 5A title last season and was named the game’s MVP. He averaged 12 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals and won all-area second-team honors and was an All-Region selection.
The Bears’ other signees so far are Mason Hawks, R.J. Gunn and Emmanuel Wembi.
