HICKORY – Lenoir-Rhyne University has six mid-year signees for its 2019 football recruiting class, which includes tight end Josh Ramseur of Newton-Conover High transferring in from Elon University.

Bears head coach Drew Cronic announced four new players from Georgia and another from Florida. The class includes two defensive backs, a true freshman, two red-shirt freshmen, two juniors and Ramseur.

Four signees are offensive players with a pair of defensive backs added. The class includes one true freshman, a pair of redshirt freshmen, two juniors and a graduate transfer.

“I think we met some needs here at mid-year,” Cronic said in an LRU press release. “We added a couple defensive backs that should help us and a few quarterbacks since our depth was really tested last year.
