NEWTON – Led by a 26th place finish by senior Erin Illich, the Lenoir-Rhyne University women finished sixth on Saturday in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) championships at Southside Park.
Queens, ranked No. 15 in NCAA Division II, repeated as league champion by having two of the top three runners, including individual winner Hannah Wolkenhauer.
She finished a 5K course in seven minutes, 14 seconds. Illich ran a 19:41 for the Bears.
LRU will be in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regionals on Nov. 4 at Wingate.
