ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson (S.C.) ran Lenoir-Rhyne University’s women’s volleyball losing streak to six matches on Wednesday night, beating the visiting Bears 3-0.
The Trojans (15-3, 9-1 South Atlantic Conference) won their 10th straight match, downing the Bears 25-17, 25-19, 25-19.
Marissa Mitter led Newberry with 13 kills, Kathryn Hughes had 11 kills and Emily Conlin finished with 41 assists.
Brooke Redmond sparked the Bears with 10 kills while Jessica Funk provided 25 assists and nine digs.
LRU next plays on Friday, a 7 p.m. home non-conference match against Francis Marion.
