ROCK HILL, S.C. – After posting the top NCAA Division II time last Friday at the Covered Bridge Open in Boone, the first South Atlantic Conference (SAC) women’s cross country weekly award of the season went to Lenoir-Rhyne University’s Audra Yarber.
Yarber, a junior from Abingdon, Va., finished 14th in a 123-runner field on a 5K course. Her time was 18 minutes, 25 seconds as LRU took sixth as a team.
She wins the award, announced Wednesday by conference officials, for the second time in her college career.
LRU is playing host to the LRU Invitational on Friday at Southside Park with a 6 p.m. start.
Yarber won last year’s home meet for the Bears.
