ROCK HILL, S.C. – Abbey Hartsell of Lenoir-Rhyne University was named All-South Atlantic Conference (SAC) in women’s golf for the fourth straight season on Friday.
Hartsell, a senior from Taylorsville who starred in high school at Alexander Central, was selected first-team, an SAC press release said.
The Bears’ Megan Robb earned a second-team spot.
Hartsell had seven top 10 finishes as a senior and won the individual title at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational in October of 2018.
Robb, a sophomore from Aberdeen, Scotland, had three straight top 10 finishes in the fall. She was in the top 25 at the Lander Bearcat Invitational last weekend.
Maeve Cummins of Carson-Newman was named SAC Freshman of the Year and Anderson (S.C.) head coach Danny Neal was selected as the league’s top coach.
Mind Puangchroen of Wingate won Golfer of the Year.
LRU will be play host for a three-day, 54-hole SAC Championship at Lake Hickory Country Club. The tournament begins on Sunday and continues through Tuesday.
