CHINA GROVE  — Lake Norman Charter High finished second on Monday in the Midwest 2A Regional golf tournament, advancing to the state championships on Monday and Tuesday in Pinehurst.

The top three teams and six individuals not on those teams earned spots in the 2A championship field at Country Club of Whispering Pines.

The advancing teams are Central Academy, Lake Norman Charter and West Stanly.

Among the six players not on those teams who qualified for the state tournament are Lance Rose of East Lincoln, who finished seventh with a 77.
