ABERDEEN, Md. – If he stays on the same schedule, former Bandys High ace Hunter Harvey should make his next start for the Aberdeen (Md.) Ironbirds on Wednesday night.

Harvey, on his way back from Tommy John surgery, pitched on the road at Brooklyn (N.Y.) in his last start on Wednesday of last week. He threw three innings, gave up one hit and struck out seven.

In five starts since joining the Ironbirds, he is 0-0 with an ERA of 0.00, pitching 10 innings. He gave allowed seven hits, walked three and struck out 16.

Aberdeen has 17 games left, with Wednesday’s game at home against Staten Island.

The Ironbirds are 33-26 – 5 ½ games behind Staten Island – in the New York-Penn League’s McNamara Division.

Harvey, 22, is not scheduled to pitch in the Arizona League, earlier reports from the parent club Baltimore Orioles have indicated.

He will be invited to spring training early next year as a 23-year-old still considered one of baseball’s top young pitching prospects.
