As you know, the landscape for local sports reporting has changed drastically since early 2017… and HobbsDailyReport is a great avenue and option for the fans of sports in the Greater Hickory area that have been following local news for so many years.
Chris Hobbs is the only reporter/editor who has been with you for all these seasons – year No. 43 is just 23 days away – and, at age 60, he’s determined to stay active through at least 2020 in order to reach having reported on the area in six different decades (1970s, 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s and 20s).

We’re 23 days away from the start of another high school football… and that’s 23 must-have days you’re invited to HobbsDailyReport.com to get yourself ready for the 2018 high school football season in the South Fork 2A, Northwestern Foothills 2A and Northwestern 3A-4A.

HOBBS

We’ve posted some items periodically, but today – Thursday, July 26 – officially starts the second season of coverage by HobbsDailyReport.com, our FREE, fast-growing website that has rapidly become a fixture in the Greater Hickory area.

First up are the school-by-school varsity football schedules for the eight South Fork 2A teams, plus a week-by-week breakdown of games scheduled for Bandys, East Lincoln, Lake Norman Charter, Lincolnton, Maiden, Newton-Conover, North Lincoln and West Lincoln.

Soon to come will be matching sets of those schedules for the Northwestern Foothills 2A schools and the Northwestern 3A-4A schools as we begin our 43rd consecutive season of high school football in the region.

We’re in a new venue for Year No. 2 and still working in the fifth different decade (1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s), providing highlights for high school football players in the region.

We’re a staff of two as my wife, Myra, shoots photos and videos when her schedule allows.

Here’s a (partial) list of what you’ll find at HobbsDailyReport.com as we approach opening night, so visit daily to see what the newest posts are about (these will post in no particular order):
