C:\Users\Chris\Desktop\in-loving-memory.pngDENVER, N.C. — The daily work on HobbsDailyReport.com for the year 2019  is dedicated to the memory of Chris’ oldest brother, Randy.

Randy (Grub) Hobbs, whose joys included playing mandolin for the Cozmic Cowboys band, attending Blue Grass and other festivals and being a master at the grill for many family meals, died on Sunday, Jan. 6 after a half-year or more of declining health.

Grub, a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy who fought in Vietnam, was 66 years old. He was also a sports fan and  believed in hard work and focusing on having everything ready to give his best performance when he had a mandolin in his hands. His support and encouragement helped launch HobbsDailyReport.com in April of 2017, and he was always in Chris’ corner during his 40-plus years in sports journalism prior to launching the website.

We hope you enjoy following local sports on our website, and our goal is to do this job in a way that would make ‘Bubba’ proud.

RIP, bro.
