Maiden High announced Friday morning clarity on its varsity football schedule moving forward.

The Blue Devils’ game scheduled on Friday night at East Burke and postponed is reset for Sept. 28, a Tuesday night, at 7 p.m. in Icard.

That move prompted a change in Maiden’s homecoming game scheduled Oct. 1 against West Caldwell. Because of North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) guidelines governing days between games and weekly limitations, that game is now scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 2.

West Caldwell adds JV game

After announcing it would play a junior varsity game on Tuesday, athletic officials at West Caldwell said that game — at home against Mountain Island Charter — won’t be played.

The e-mail indicated the schedule may be revised again.

The Warriors (0-2) postponed this week’s Catawba Valley 2A Athletic game at Newton-Conover.
