ICARD — East Burke High announced Wednesday night it has rescheduled a conference varsity football game against Maiden that won’t be played on Friday as originally scheduled.
The Blue Devils will visit the Cavs on Sept. 28, a Tuesday night, for a 7 p.m. kickoff in a Catawba Valley 2A Athletic game.
The teams can’t play this Friday because of COVID concerns at East Burke.
Maiden athletic officials said Wednesday the Blue Devils varsity will not have a game this Friday night.
The originally scheduled East Burke at Maiden junior varsity game will be played as scheduled on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
The CVAC 2A schedule for Sept. 24 is East Burke at Bandys, Lincolnton at Newton-Conover, Maiden at West Lincoln and West Caldwell at Bunker Hill.
The week that Maiden and East Burke are scheduled to play on Tuesday night will have West Caldwell visiting Maiden and Newton-Conover at East Burke on the Friday night that follows.
