The Haywood County Board of Education is looking at its options regarding a limit of 100 fans at high school football games this season.

The North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) has ruled only 100 fans — from the home school — can attend junior varsity or varsity football games.

Football practices began on Monday, and the first varsity games are Feb. 26, with each school limited to seven games this season.

The Haywood school system is particularly concerns about the fan limit and the traditional rivalry game of Waynesville Tuscola versus Canton Pisgah. The game is scheduled Feb. 26 at Pisgah.
