WINSTON-SALEM – Top-seeded Mount Tabor eliminated No. 8 Watauga in the second round of the state 3AA high school football playoffs on Friday night, winning 21-14.
Watauga finished head coach Ryan Habich’s fifth season in Boone at 10-3.
Mount Tabor (11-2) gained a third-round home game next Friday against No. 12 Sun Valley (10-3), a 49-14 winner at home on Friday over No. 13 Cuthberson.
