MORGANTON – The schedule for the 2021 Burke County Jamboree for varsity football has been set.
The event is Aug. 13 at Freedom High with a $10 admission. Gates open at 4:15 p.m.
The schedule:
Freedom vs. R-S Central, 5 p.m.
Patton vs. Hickory Hawks, 6 p.m.
E. Burke vs. W. Wilkes, 7 p.m.
Draughn vs. N. Buncombe, 8 p.m.
Freedom will play this season in the Northwestern 3A-4A with Ashe County, Hibriten, Alexander Central, South Caldwell and Watauga.
Patton has moved to the Mountain Foothills 7 2A with Brevard, Chase, East Rutherford, Hendersonville, Polk County and R-S Central.
Draughn will play in the Western Highlands 1A-2A with fellow 1As Avery County, Mitchell County, Mountain Heritage and Rosman and 2As Madison and Black Mountain Owen.
East Burke is in the Catawba Valley 2A Athletic Conference, facing Bandys, Bunker Hill, Lincolnton, Maiden, Newton-Conover, West Caldwell and West Lincoln.
Freedom starts Aug. 20 at Crest, Patton plays East Burke at Patton on Aug. 20 and Draughn starts Aug. 20 at Thomas Jefferson Academy.
