HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Ashley retiring after 33 years at East Lincoln

DENVER, N.C. — After more than 30 years one high school, Chip Ashley will retire at the end of the week from the coaching staff at East Lincoln High.

Ashley’s roles include assistant coaching jobs in varsity girls’ and boys’ basketball and he was also head coach in those two sports, including a stint as the leader of both of those teams.

He is scheduled to retire next Thursday.
