There won’t be any official American Legion baseball or softball played this spring or summer.
Following an earlier announcement that all regional and state tournaments have been cancelled, the North Carolina American Legion Department Executive Committee announced Monday there will be no local play, i.e. regular season.
The uncertainty of the coronavirus led to both in-state and national decisions.
“As disappointed as we are about this decision, we understand the difficult decision that had to be made due to the current crisis and unforeseen future of the pandemic,” the committee said.
