VALDESE – Draughn High has a new head varsity baseball coach.

In a press release from Burke County Schools, the school announced Mason Biddix — a former Wildcats baseball and basketball player — will be the new baseball leader.

He replaces Yates Jensen, who coached Draughn to a record of 7-38 over two seasons that includes going 5-19 overall last season and 3-9 in the Northwestern Foothills 2A to finish in sixth place.

Biddix is a 2014 graduate of Draughn and is a 2018 graduate of Montreat College, where he played two seasons of baseball after having also played at Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC).
