HICKORY – The Hickory Crawdads have a new front office management team.

Douglas Locascio, assistant general manager since January for the Crawdads – a Class A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, who own Hickory’s baseball team – is the new GM, the team announced via a press release on Monday.

In the same announcement, Skip Moser was selected to fill Locascio’s role as assistant GM.

The moves come after the resignation of Mark Seaman, GM for the last 11 seasons, and the press release said he is leaving to join the City of Hickory as Recreation and Sports Tourism Director.

Locascio will now oversee day-to-day operations, corporate sales and communications in Hickory for the Rangers.

“I am grateful for this opportunity and am excited about this next chapter with the Crawdads,” Locascio said in the press release. “Thank you to Mark for his guidance over our 10 seasons together and for his dedication to the team.”

Locascio is an ambassador to the Catawba County Chamber of Commerce, serves on the Hickory Metro Sports Commission (HMSC), works with the Catawba County Partnership for Children and is a member of the Hickory Young Professionals (HYP). He was selected as one of HYP’s Top 10 Under 40 in 2016.

He joined the Crawdads organization in March 2010 as an interim Ticket Operations Manager but was hired full-time following the season to become the Director of Ticket Operations and Merchandising.

After the 2014 season, Locascio was promoted to Executive Director of Sales and Merchandising.

Moser joined the Crawdads full time before the 2018 season after working at the Hickory Soup Kitchen for 10 years. He will continue to oversee stadium operations and be a key member of the group and corporate sales team.
