KINSTON – Sophomore guard Tory Agrusa scored a career-high 27 points on Sunday, leading the Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC) women to a 91-46 basketball victory at Lenoir Community College.
Shaniya Lester and Tanisha Wall each added 18 points as the Red Hawks (20-4, 15-1 Region X) ran their win streak to nine games.
CVCC, ranked No. 17 in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) poll, next plays on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at home against Guilford Tech.
Guilford Tech handed CVCC is only Region X loss this season, 87-84 in overtime on Jan. 23 in Greensboro.
On Sunday, Agrusa broke her previous career high of 20 points, which game last Tuesday.
Amber Roberson scored 12 points to pace the Lancers (2-18, 1-18).
CVCC led 45-16 at halftime before outscoring the Lancers 46-30 in the second half.
