MEN’S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Louisburg rolls, extends CVCC’s losing streak to 3

LOUISBURG – Louisburg College extended Catawba Valley Community College’s losing streak in men’s basketball to three games on Saturday, beating the visiting Red Hawks 103-65.

Seth McCoy paced the Hurricanes (15-4, 9-n Region X) with 24 points, including 16 in the first half. Lewis Freeman (16 points), Jalen Gaddy (15 points) and Jordan Oakley (12 points) also reached double figures for Louisburg.

Tyrell Oglesby led the Red Hawks (8-12, 3-8 Region X) with 15 points, while Marcus Talley added 12 points. Post player Matthew Gray added 10 points, his season high, for CVCC.

The Hurricanes led 64-23 by halftime.

CVCC’s next game is Wednesday at home with a visit by Guilford Tech for a 7 p.m. start at the Tarlton Complex.
