HICKORY – Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC) has added another women’s volleyball player for next season, bringing in a second signee from Iredell County.

The Red Hawks indicated in a press release on Monday that North Iredell High’s Meredith Patterson will join the program.

CVCC earlier signed West Iredell’s Macy Pope.

“I can’t think of a better player to round out our roster for this fall than Meredith Patterson,” CVCC head volleyball coach Shannon Hudson said in a press release. “She has the experience and control that we are looking for in a middle, and I’m excited to have her joining a very talented fall group of athletes.”

A two-time all-conference and all-county selection, Patterson finished her senior prep season with 162 kills, 198 blocks, 78 digs and 37 aces.

North Iredell went 28-2 last season and won its second state 3A volleyball title. Patterson played on three Raiders teams that won conference championships. She also played club volleyball for the Iredell County Stars.

Also a standout in the classroom, Patterson is a member of the Beta Club and National Honors Society. She plans to obtain her associate in science at CVCC.
