HICKORY – The first home game for the new Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC) women’s softball team will be Oct. 4 in a doubleheader at 6 p.m. against Lenoir-Rhyne University.
The Red Hawks have released a schedule that has 15 games. The season begins Sept. 7 with a doubleheader at Montreat College.
“We are excited to play tough competition this fall to see where we stand,” CVCC head coach Josh Bumgarner said in a press release. “By playing top college competition, we have the opportunity to get better as a team, as well as a chance for our players to be seen by four-year colleges.”
After playing their opener, the Red Hawks will be idle until they go to the Carolinas Clash tournament on Sept. 21-22.
