HICKORY – Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC) will play its first fall baseball game this season on Oct. 4, facing Lenoir-Rhyne University in a doubleheader at LRU.

The Red Hawks have released a schedule that includes the first three games each being against an NCAA Division II school. They play at Limestone College on Oct. 22 and at Queens University on Oct. 26.
“All these programs provide our players with an opportunity to compete against great programs and allow them the chance to be seen and evaluated to maybe have a shot to play at one of these schools after their time here,” CVCC head coach Paul Rozelle said in a press release.
The Red Hawks will face Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute (CCC&TI) – which is just starting its baseball program – on Oct. 12 at Appalachian State.
The only fall game CVCC has against an NCAA Division I foe is Oct. 19 at North Carolina A&T.
CVCC will have its Prep Baseball Report Scout Day on Oct. 30.
