Catawba Valley Community College sophomore Isayah Johnson (front row, left) has signed to play basketball next season for the Mars Hill University men. He played 57 games for CVCC in his career, averaging 12 points, 6.5 rebounds and one block per game and shooting 57.9 percent from the field. He played high school basketball at West Charlotte and is third on CVCC’s all-time list in scoring (683 points) and rebounding (373). His 55 blocks are the most in Red Hawks’ men’s basketball history. A 6-foot-7 forward, Johnson joins Everette Palmer (Ferrum College) and Victor Tshiona (Montreat College) as CVCC players on last year’s team that will play at four-year schools./CODY DALTON, CATAWBA VALLEY ATHLETICS
