CATAWBA – Bandys High has hired Candace Newman, to coach girls’ varsity tennis next school year.
She was approved as a non-faculty coach by the Catawba County Schools Board of Education on Monday night.
Newman replaces Irma Bedford as head coach.
Newman is from Sherrill’s Ford and actively involved in serving and volunteering in the community, a press release by the Bandys athletic department on Monday night said.
“We look forward to bringing Coach Newman’s expertise to our tennis program and are confident the (team) will be in great hands moving forward,” Bandys Athletic Director Brandon Harbinson said in the press release.
