Memphis beat visiting Norfolk (Va.) 8-3 in Triple-A baseball on Wednesday night despite Zach Jarrett walking twice and scoring a run for the Tides.
Jarrett moved to No. 2 in Norfolk’s batting order and went 0-for-2. He struck out twice and is hitting .257 with six home runs and 20 RBIs.
Jarrett started in centerfield.
Norfolk continues a series at Memphis through Sunday.
The Tides will return to Charlotte for a six-game series from Aug. 17-22.
Norfolk is 24-34 and in sixth place in the Triple-A East Southeast Division, 16 1/2 games behind division-leading Durham.
Jarrett was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2017 and taken in the 28th round.
