The start of a Triple A baseball series between Gwinnett (Ga.) and the Norfolk (Va.) Tides was washed out on Tuesday night in Norfolk.
The teams will now play a doubleheader in Norfolk with a 5:05 p.m. start on Wednesday and then play Tuesday’s game.
Former Hickory High star Zach Jarrett is an outfielder for the Tides and hitting .288.
Jarrett is the son of NASCAR racing champion Dale Jarrett and grandson of Ned Jarrett, a NASCAR championship driver and well-known racing commentator and broadcaster.
Jarrett’s fans will have an opportunity to see him play close to home on June 29-July 4 when the Tides visit Charlotte for a six-game series.
