DEAL

The next start for former Bandys High left-hander Hayden Deal will come Friday night when the Mississippi Braves are at home against Tennessee.

The Braves have listed Deal (1-2, 3.28 ERA) as the starter for that Double-A game that begins at 7:35 p.m.

Deal is coming off a six-inning outing in which he struck out seven.

The Friday night start will be Deal’s ninth of the season.

Signed as a free agent by the Atlanta Braves after a tryout at the Bandys stadium, Deal has now pitched in 72 pro games. He is 18-15 with a career ERA of 2.93 and has made 35 starts, throwing 264 1/3 innings and striking out 242.

When Deal will make his 10th start of the season will depend on the number of starters the Braves decide to use in their rotation.
