Zach Jarrett was back in the lineup on Saturday night as Norfolk (Va.) beat visiting Gwinnett (Ga.) 4-2 in Triple-A baseball.
Jarrett, who took a night off on Friday, batted seventh for the Tides and started in centerfield on Saturday. He went 1-for-3, walked once and scored a run.
He is batting .283 heading into Sunday afternoon’s series finale against Gwinnett.
The Tides are 19-25 and in fifth place in the Triple-A East Southeast Division, 11 games behind division leader Durham.
Jarrett was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2017 after starring at Charlotte. The O’s picked him in the 28th round.
His fans will have an opportunity to see him play close to home on Tuesday through next Sunday when the Tides visit Charlotte for a six-game series.
