Zach Jarrett took a night off on Friday.
He was not in the lineup as the Norfolk (Va.) Tides beat visiting Gwinnett (Ga.) 6-2 in a Triple-A game.
The series continues Saturday at 7:05 p.m. in Norfolk.
The Tides are 18-25 and in fifth place in the Triple-A East Southeast Division, 11 games behind division leader Durham.
Jarrett was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2017 after starring at Charlotte. The O’s picked him in the 28th round.
His fans will have an opportunity to see him play close to home on Tuesday through next Sunday when the Tides visit Charlotte for a six-game series.
