Zach Jarrett hit his ninth home run of the year on Wednesday night but Durham beat visiting Norfolk (Va.) 9-3 in a Triple-A game.

Jarrett batted ninth in the Tides’ order and started in centerfield.

He is batting .235 with nine home runs and 32 RBIs.

The series continues through Sunday in Durham.

Former Bandys High star Hunter Harvey did not pitch on Wednesday night. He is now in Norfolk as part of a continuing rehab assignment (eight minor league games with a 2-1 record and 8.10 ERA with 10 innings pitched and seven strikeouts).

It is unclear if the Baltimore Orioles will return him to the big leagues this season, and the club recently said that decision should come within the next 10 days.

The Tides are 44-65 and in sixth place in the Triple-A East Southeast Division, 25 games back of Durham.

Jarrett has been in Triple-A since a promotion from Double-A Bowie (Md.) on May 19, and he has twice been assigned to the Baltimore Orioles during his career (March 2019 and February 2020).

He was drafted by the Orioles in 2017 and taken in the 28th round.
