Zach Jarrett went 0-for-4 on Thursday night, getting back in the Norfolk (Va.) Tides’ lineup in a home series against Jacksonville (Fla.).
Jacksonville won 4-3 and Jarrett batted eighth and started in center field for the Tides.
On Wednesday night, Jacksonville won 8-2 and Jarrett did not play.
Jarrett batted eighth and played right field on Tuesday in the series opener, won 4-3 by the Jumbo Shrimp. He went 0-for-1 with two walks and scored a run.
A former Hickory High and Charlotte star in college, Jarrett’s batting average is .236 and he has eight home runs and 31 RBIs this season.
His next game will be his 375th as a pro, and he has a career batting average of .259 with 35 home runs.
The Jacksonville at Norfolk series continues through Sunday.
The Tides are 39-58 and in sixth place in the Triple-A East Southeast Division, 23 1/2 games back of Durham.

Jarrett has been in Triple-A since a promotion from Double-A Bowie (Md.) on May 19, and he has twice been assigned to the Baltimore Orioles during his career (March 2019 and February 2020).
He was drafted by the Orioles in 2017 and taken in the 28th round.
