Zach Jarrett had two hits, batting ninth in the order and starting in left field on Thursday night as Bowie (Md.) beat visiting Reading (Pa.) 9-3 in a Double-A game.
Jarrett improved his batting average to .259 with his two hits as the Baysox improved to 6-2.
The series continues Friday night in Bowie.
Jarrett is a .264 career hitter in the pros after being a 28th round pick by the Baltimore Orioles in the 2017 draft (pick No. 848).
He played college baseball at Charlotte after starring at Hickory High.
Bowie is a farm club of the Baltimore Orioles while Richmond is affiliated with the San Francisco Giants and Akron with the Cleveland Indians.
He is the son of NASCAR champion driver Dale Jarrett and in his fourth on-field pro season (there were no minor league games in 2020).
