The Durham Bulls shut out Norfolk (Va.) 9-0 on Saturday night, when Zach Jarrett was hitless for the Tides.
Jarrett, a former star at Hickory High and in college at Charlotte, went 0-for-4 and struck out twice.
He batted fifth in the Norfolk batting order and started in right field.
Jarrett’s batting average dipped to .284. He has four home runs and 16 RBIs this season, and his last home run was his 31st as a pro.
He is the son of NASCAR racing champion Dale Jarrett and grandson of Ned Jarrett, a NASCAR championship driver and well-known racing commentator and broadcaster.
The series with Durham ends of Sunday with a 1:05 p.m. start.
Norfolk has a home series this week against Gwinnett (Ga.), then plays a six-game series in Charlotte, beginning on June 29 and continuing through July 4.
