JARRETT

A change in where he is hitting in the Norfolk (Va.) Tides batting order did not get Zach Jarrett  different results on Wednesday night.

Jarrett, who had most often been hitting third in the batting order, batted fifth in a home game against the Durham Bulls and went 0-for-4 in  an 11-2 loss.

He has gone 0-for-12 in his last three games and his batting average is down to .259.

The third game of the Bulls-Tides series is Thursday night at 7:05 p.m.

Jarrett, a former Hickory High and Charlotte star, started in right field on Wednesday night, also a move. He has been playing center field.

The Tides fell to 23-30 and they are in fourth place in the Triple-A East Southeast Division, 14 games behind the division-leading Bulls (38-17).

Jarrett was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2017 and taken in the 28th round.
