Zach Jarrett had a tough day on Sunday, going 0-for-4 and striking out three times as Norfolk (Va.) nipped visiting Jacksonville (Fla.) 4-3 in 11 innings on Sunday.
It was Jarrett’s third game in Triple-A. He had two hits in each of his first two games and is now hitting .293.
Norfolk (4-14) is off on Monday before starting a six-game home series against Charlotte on Tuesday night.
Jarrett started in right field on Sunday, batting seventh in the order.
He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles after a sterling college career at Charlotte, and he was a high school star at Hickory.
He is the son of NASCAR champion driver Dale Jarrett and in his fourth on-field pro season (there were no minor league games in 2020).
